Opium was first introduced to Siam by Chinese traders who sneaked it in to the country by boat. The drug sparks the interest of many visitors to Thailand with opium houses becoming popular tourist destinations.
This exquisite and cozy guest room sleeps two in ornate bunk beds. It represents the house of opium and boasts a huge array of artefacts related to the opium trade in Siam during the 19th and 20th centuries. Guests can try Thai-style pillows which will allow them to sit back, relax and take in the culture that surrounds them. Original opium pipes adorn the walls while the Thai/Chinese cabinet and ornate bunk beds offer the chance to step back in time to a time when opium lords were all-powerful.
